Letter from Abrokwah to Afia Schwar

I once set the love of my life on fire

& I watched her burn…burn

Burn to ashes & dust

Made laughter as the wind carried her away

But after many 52 weeks her screaming &

Pleading still echoes in my head.

I hear voices in my head…her voice, “me kɔɔ gyee loan”

She said, “you just gonna stand there & watch me burn?”

I replied, “Yes”

Walked in to see another man in my bed

After a long day hustling for our daily bread

That awful sight with the LOML left me dead

She made me the fool

Can’t believe over you I use to drool

On the outside, you were a ‘queen’

But on the inside an unfaithful cesspool

I don’t know what hit me

But I’d be alight, I use to love you

Not anymore

I should have listened to Ed Sheeran

“The club isn’t the best place to find a lover…”

She kept pleading, but I never listened.

Honestly I enjoyed killing her

I tore her clothes apart, into shreds

I sprayed her with gasoline &

Tossed a flaming lighter onto her

Royal wetness.

Roses are red

Violets are blue

Your spotlight is gone, so is you

That man disappeared faster than a fart in a fan factory

Would have painted with his blood in an art gallery

You’d think I’m crazy

But fame made you a balloon

Your ego inflated, but guess what?

I have a pin…

Don’t ask for forgiveness, that’s God’s job

“Time for you to go”, holding the door knob

I asked her for his name but she said no

& that was as far as I could go

I thought she was my HOPE

But unfortunately the “P” was silent
