Every woman has a secret

Author: Kelvin Annorson

As I was scrolling down the pages of a diary, full of misery…

It has been five good years of good marriage

Until, I discovered a book in front of me as I was being served porridge, going through some old boxes in the basement…

Every chapter and page of the book made my heart sink

And left me lifeless, giving up on a relationship I longed risk

Why has life been unfair? Our marriage on a nice journey here and there

Leaving me soundless and bare, words unsaid  finally being said

I trusted you, being with you has taken up a tenth of my life

Dated five years, married five years, until I was hit with strife

Your neatly embedded handwriting in the sheets of your teen dairy

Came out words, that made tears run up and down like a fairy

“Life in high school was dreadful, sleeping with 15 men for my stay in school and aborting 5 babies, being raped by my uncle, and the only option to survive was to be a sex worker.”

“Our S.R.C president back in college used to be my boyfriend and I even have two kids, one with my uncle and my S.R.C president, but I have decided to settle down for a new life, with a new guy, someone who I think will never find my dreadful past”

Finally, her own books gave her out

I didn’t hear it from a friend who I will say I won’t believe about

“My brothers every woman has a secret, never open up the diaries of a woman”
