Best Friend

Author: Kelvin Annorson
Age: 12

Mouths shuttered into laughter,

One’s heart full of pure matter,

One’s brain full of weeds and deceit,

Ready to strike across the heart of one another,

The ant that bites is in one’s own cloth,

With hands and heart my soul fought,

For the love and peace of the other,

But…

I thought she loved me, but that’s what she told me,

Through trouble times we shall walk,

That was my best friend,

With heart and soul I searched,

But I was a thorn right in flesh,

Telling you what from a heart of Gold,

Receiving with heart of stone,

My downfall and my rise,

My worst destruction,

My only soul mate…
